Q: How does RustStop® RS-5 work? (simplified)

A: Rust is basically an electrochemical process. In order for rust to form there must be steel, water and free electrons present. By eliminating any one of these elements, rust will not form. The RustStop® RS-5 System works like a "rust magnet" attracting free electrons that would otherwise be rusting your vehicle. The RustStop® Rust Magnets™ then corrode, instead of your vehicle, giving Visual Proof that the System is preventing rust!

Q: How difficult is it to install a RustStop® RS-5 unit? Can I do it myself?
A: It is quick and simple for the "do it yourselfer" to install, but it is vital that it is installed correctly as incorrect installation can affect the efficiency.

Installation (simplified): Mount the command module in the engine compartment with the attached adhesive tape. Mount the four sacrificial anodes termed "Rust Magnets™" using the specially designed conductive adhesive tape to areas of the vehicle where most water is likely to collect or run. Two at the front of the vehicle (usually in the hood recess areas) and the other two at the rear in similar areas. Run wires from the command module to each Rust Magnet™ and attach.

Q: Will RustStop® RS-5 cause electrical shocks if a person touches the vehicle.

A: No. RustStop® RS-5 will not cause any electrical shocks by merely touching the vehicle.

Q: Will RustStop® RS-5 interfere with any electronic devices that are already on my vehicle, such as the computer or car alarm?

A: No. RustStop® RS-5 is as safe as any other electrical device on your vehicle.
 

Q: Will RustStop® RS-5 be effective on a vehicle that has existing rust?
